Workshop Schedule

Workshop:

July 21st from 8-12. The workshop will focus on:

  • Discovering applicable scholarships
  • Understanding what admissions officers want in an admission essay and workshopping ideas for an outline.

Workspace:

July 21st from 1-5. Students will have the option to stay (or return after lunch) and work on developing a draft of their essay with the admission professionals in the room, making it easier to bounce ideas off of them, make immediate adjustments, and produce a workable draft.

1-on-1:

July 22nd, select 1 hour between 8am and 5pm. Registration includes a one-hour 1-on-1 session with an admission essay coach where students can dive deeper into the essay by analyzing language, tone, themes, and messaging. Registration for your 1-hour time slot will be sent out in June.

Meet Julie Spak, Your Expert IEC Instructor

We are thrilled to introduce Julie Spak. Julie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, making her an invaluable resource for students and parents navigating the complex college admissions process.

With over 10 years of experience as an Independent Educational Consultant (IEC), Julie has honed her skills in guiding students toward their academic goals. Her impressive background includes roles in Admissions at the University of New Hampshire and the American College in London, where she gained a deep understanding of what top universities are looking for in applicants.

In addition to her admissions experience, Julie has also served as a Financial Aid Officer at the University of New Hampshire. This role equipped her with a comprehensive knowledge of the financial aid process, allowing her to help families maximize their financial aid opportunities.

Julie's career also includes time as a school counselor at Strafford School, providing personalized guidance and support to students preparing for college. Her Birkman Certification further enhances her ability to understand and meet the unique needs of each student.

Parents and students can attend together or separately. Registration covers family attendance.
